Do you ever just want to go to Hogwarts?
Like, you don’t want to be a member of the trio, or the order, or a death eater.
You just want to go to the school.
You want to know what it feels like to be up late stressing over potions homework, or how it feels to really ride a broom, and just go to Hogwarts on a normal year as a normal student
all the time
this is an actual scene from the movie
Can we talk about how in Twilight mythology Jake was apparently in love with Bella’s egg while it was still in her ovaries? Because it’s been years and I’m still not over that.
even imaginary men in literature are genuinely so fucking disgusting
And lets not forget that SMeyer wrote Bella as being more incensed by a lame nickname than the fact that her best friend has just “imprinted” on her NEONATE daughter—who’s going to age to adulthood within a few years, and he’s gonna be “uncle Jacob”, til he’s not.
Bella, sweetie, big picture here.
SMeyer, creeper, eat glass.
the biggest problem being that Jacob kissed Bella against her will, and it was presented as romantic
that Jacob and Edward talked about forcing Bella to have an abortion and Edward offered Jacob the opportunity to have kids with her, without her even being present for this conversation, much less consenting to this, and it was presented as romantic
on top of all the times Edward dismantled Bella’s car in some way or another to prevent her from going places when he didn’t want her to
SMeyer deserves more shit for romanticizing abusive relationships throughout the entire series than for the strangeness of this once scene
well fucking said
Have you heard of Ban Bossy? It’s the new initiative from Lean In and the Girl Scouts that’s trying to ban “bossy” and similar words that are used to bring down girls that are ambitious, take risks, and speak up. By changing the way we treat girls who lead, hopefully our generation will someday see more women in leadership roles.
don’t read the youtube comments on this.
Hold on just a tick. Listen, I’m Jewish, so I’m perfectly capable of understanding that what he did was just…..well, there are no words for it. But let’s not round it up to simply Jews that got killed. It was six million people that died in those camps, not just Jews. Did you know that homosexuals were sent there, too? Yeah, I’m sure you did. They had to wear special little symbols on their clothes. Do you know what it was? It was a pink triangle.
It was six million PEOPLE.
But you let that roll over in your mind for a while and you are going to forever see this man as a monster, but that’s not what he was. He was someone who thought he was truly doing something right for his nation, no matter how shitty he was doing it. Believe me when I say that I don’t like him. I really don’t. My grandfather’s brothers died in those camps, and my grandfather escaped to Spain, then to Mexico. He was lucky.
This is not a monster holding hands with a little girl.
This is Adolf Hitler, a man, holding hands with a little girl.
Yeah. It’s fucking scary. It really is. Do you know why?
It’s because you’re seeing that he wasn’t, in fact, a monster. You’re seeing in this picture that he was a man. He was a man, and that’s really the saddest part of it all.
As a History major who specializes in the history of early modern Europe, I’ve studied a lot of dictators in detail, not just Hitler. The number one mistake anyone could ever make in history is making the assumption that only inhuman monsters are capable of doing terrible things.
Stop dehumanizing Hitler just so you can reassure yourself that “normal” humans aren’t capable of doing bad things. Hitler liked children and dogs, he was a vegetarian and he cried like a little boy when his mother died. I’m not saying he was a good, innocent person, but when you stop attributing human characteristics to historical figures like Hitler, it’s how you overlook people just like him in real life, and it’s how people like him end up back in power.
That last statement.
Let me tell you a fucking thing about costume design. That’s some in depth, difficult shit to learn. And the fact that this goddess can ramble this shit off the cuff means she knows her shit. ELLE WOODS IS A GODAMNED GENIUS AND IT’s NOT A STRETCH TO BELIEVE SHE GOT INTO HARVARD LAW MMMK?
FUCK YEAH ELLE WOODS OR DIE
this movie is literally about an attractive woman who loves to party having to prove over and over again that she’s also intelligent and hard-working to those who judge her based on her looks (who also empowers and fights for other women, and fosters unlikely friendships instead of engaging in girl hate) and if you don’t think that’s some great feminist shit then I don’t know what your problem is
Let’s not forget that in the end when the guy wants her again, she turns him down because she knows she deserves better.
AND let’s not forget that at the end she is the class-elected speaker at the graduation ceremony, has graduated with high honors, has been invited into one of Boston’s best law firms, and is best friends with the girl who her boyfriend left her for.
I don’t think there will ever come a time when I don’t reblog this
